*When looking at rankings it is important to understand that great shortstops and catchers are rated higher because they are worth more in comparison to other players at their respective positions. For instance, a star shortstop like Trea Turner will outproduce (in fantasy point land) the average shortstop by over 60%, while a star outfielder like Christian Yelich will not (this is based on the higher batting talent of the average outfielder). Thus this incremental gain is worth more and you should expect to pay more. A big mistake made by many fantasy leaguers is comparing one player's stats to another's at a different position. Our rankings and fantasy dollar values take this into account for you. Understanding this concept is the first step to winning a fantasy league!
