The
depth charts are organized by Division and teams are listed in alphabetical order, with
the first starting position player listed 1st at his respective postion. This list is not all inclusive, purposely left out are the "fantasy-wise" insignificant players. |
| Playing % |
For
Batters, this category lists the expected number of plate appearances that the
batter is expected to make, based on 660 plate appearances (including walks) (1=100% for
batters). For Starting pitchers, this number will represent the player's
expected "slot" in the rotation, similarly for relief pitchers, the
number represents their status, with 1 being the closer. |
At Bats / Innings Pitched (AB/IP) |
The
number of At Bats or Innings Pitched we are projecting for the coming 2002 season. |
Grade |
This
is Fantistics Grading system for the relative worth of each player in fantasy terms. The
average Fantasy Player drafted has a grade of C+. This grade is exclusive of playing time,
the grading is based on the fantasy value of each player At Bat or Inning Pitched. |

Value above Mean (VAM) |
VAM: Value Above Mean (or Average) is a computation that measures a
players' fantasy worth verses others at his respective position/s. In other words, what we
do is take the average fantasy worth for the typical number of fantasy starters at each
position. This average serves as the standard that we compare all others at that
particular position by, thus the players with a higher VAM has more worth because of the abundance or absence of other quality players at these positions (this concept is explained in further detail in the subscription area). Fantistics is an exclusive provide over VAM and the VAM
valuation database. We found that Drafting with VAM over 25% more effective than just
drafting by projected value! |
